The Plutus Awards recognize the best personal finance blogs, podcasts, videos, and all type of published content with a focus on women.
Women’s issues haven’t historically been fully addressed in the financial media or in typical financial advice.
The Fairer Cents is an economics and finance podcast about badass women and their money stories — but not the usual stories. The usual suspect experts get enough airtime elsewhere, and we’re way more interested in hearing from financial underdogs and underrepresented voices, and tackling stickier issues like the wage gap, emotional labor and breaking into the boys’ club.

Think of Bitches Get Riches as a beautiful test tube baby. The ovum was harvested from the life experience of two optimistic, financially solvent, twenty-something feminist killjoys. The sperm was the writhing mass of bullshit shot straight out of the blighted ball sack that was the Great Recession. Though not our first choice of donor, we are raising this baby with all the dedication and ferocity of Lisa Banes’s character in the classic Lifetime thriller Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?

Why a blog on money? Here’s the deal. Everyone has to learn this finance-y stuff eventually. There is no way around it, ‘less you got a plan to ride some 93-year-old oil baron’s D until his ticker explodes. So, if we are going to do it—if we are truly going to learn these imperative adult/life skills—I figure we might as well have some fun while we’re at it. Talking about finance shouldn’t be so fucking terrible, but it is. I’m starting a blog because I want to make it…not terrible.
